What is Full-Stack Web Development?
Full-stack developers build both the front end (what users see and click, built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React) and the back end (servers, APIs, authentication and databases). It is the most common entry path into software jobs and freelancing, and in 2026 it increasingly includes adding AI features — chat interfaces, smart search, summarisation — to ordinary web products.
Why it's trending now
- JavaScript remains the most-used language among developers in the Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2025, and TypeScript usage keeps climbing in job listings.
- Software and application developers appear on the WEF Future of Jobs Report 2025 list of fastest-growing jobs, and BLS projects 10% growth for software developers (2025–35).
- AI coding tools changed the job rather than removing it: employers now want developers who can ship faster with AI, review generated code and build AI-powered features.
- Web development is Bangladesh's most common entry into IT jobs and freelancing, with hundreds of thousands of active freelancers serving international clients.

10 interview questions
Try answering out loud first, then open the short model answer.
1What happens when you type a URL and press Enter?
DNS lookup, TCP/TLS connection, HTTP request, server response, then the browser parses HTML, loads CSS/JS, builds the DOM/CSSOM, lays out and paints the page.
2Explain the difference between let, const and var.
var is function-scoped and hoisted; let and const are block-scoped. const cannot be reassigned (though objects it holds can be mutated). Prefer const, then let.
3What is the virtual DOM / how does React update the UI?
React keeps a lightweight representation of the UI, compares (diffs) it after state changes and applies only the minimal real DOM updates needed.
4SSR vs CSR vs SSG?
Client-side rendering builds the page in the browser; server-side rendering builds HTML per request on the server; static generation builds HTML at build time. SSR/SSG improve SEO and first load.
5What is CORS?
A browser security mechanism that blocks cross-origin requests unless the server explicitly allows the requesting origin via response headers.
6REST vs GraphQL?
REST exposes resources at multiple endpoints with fixed responses; GraphQL exposes one endpoint where clients request exactly the fields they need. GraphQL reduces over-fetching but adds complexity.
7How do you store passwords securely?
Never store plain text. Hash with a slow, salted algorithm like bcrypt or Argon2, and use HTTPS everywhere.
8What is a database index?
A data structure that speeds up lookups on columns at the cost of extra storage and slower writes. Index columns used in frequent WHERE, JOIN and ORDER BY clauses.
9What is the event loop in JavaScript?
The mechanism that lets single-threaded JS handle async work: the call stack runs code, and completed async callbacks wait in task/microtask queues until the stack is empty.
10How would you improve a slow web page?
Measure first (Lighthouse, Web Vitals), then optimise images, reduce/split JS bundles, cache responses, use a CDN, lazy-load below-the-fold content and fix slow API queries.
Resume bullet templates
Replace the [brackets] with your real numbers. Quantified results stand out to recruiters.
Built and deployed [app] with Next.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, serving [N] monthly users with [X]% uptime.
Improved Lighthouse performance score from [X] to [Y] by optimising images, code-splitting and caching, increasing conversions by [Z]%.
Designed REST APIs for [feature] handling [N] requests/day with p95 latency under [X] ms.
Added an AI-powered [search/summary] feature using [LLM API], reducing support tickets by [X]%.

Bangladesh
Tk 16,240 – Tk 61,120
gross per month
Paylab JavaScript Programmer range (10th–90th percentile, gross monthly); Frontend Developers are listed at BDT 14,112–50,390 and Software Engineers up to BDT 100,918. Senior engineers at top product companies earn well above this — Levels.fyi's Bangladesh software-engineer median total compensation is about BDT 973k per year.
Demand
High and the largest number of openings — agencies, startups, offshore firms and in-house teams all hire web developers. Competition at entry level is intense, so a strong portfolio matters.
Remote (from Bangladesh)
$25,000 – $70,000
per year
Arc reports Bangladesh-based remote front-end developers average $38,607 and back-end developers $41,569 per year; senior remote developers average $69,548.
Demand
High volume but very competitive. TypeScript, React/Next.js and solid back-end skills plus good English help stand out.
Global benchmark
$92,650
US median, Web Developers (BLS, 2025)
Full-stack engineers at software companies are usually classed as software developers, whose combined BLS category has a much higher $134,040 median. BLS notes AI tools may soften growth for pure web-development roles. Projected growth: +4% (2025–35); software developers +10%.
Demand
High. Software development remains the largest tech job category; AI shifts expectations toward productivity and AI feature work rather than reducing demand overall.
How to read these numbers: Bangladesh ranges are Paylab's 10th–90th percentile gross monthly salaries (top product companies often pay more). Remote ranges are CareerPulse estimates informed by Arc's Bangladesh remote-developer data. Global figures are US medians from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (May 2025 data, 2025–35 projections) unless stated otherwise.
